Guys, regular unexpected gift giving adds "brownie points".  Not giving gifts just on expected dates like birthdays, anniversaries etc. Sending little surprises at unexpected times puts a deposit in her emotional bank account. You need this bank account to help balance those time when you aren't so charming. Gifts don't have to be expensive. Occasional gifts received in public forums such as work also helps to bolster the "brownie point" factor. Learn shoe size,  clothing sizes, favorite color, whether they like belly baring, horizontal stripes, vertical stripes etc. Learn whether they like gold or silver according to what looks good with their skin tone.  Service gifts, such as baby sitting, making dinner, creating free time for her also work well, but work best when put into a fun certificate form.  Also keep an ample supply of greeting cards on hand.

The 3 Don'ts !!! 
Don't give appliances,
 unless you are a dork!!!

Don't cop out and give gift certificates. 
Exception to this rule would include occasional  gift certificates to the spa, or for a massage.  Also gift certificates to places like Victoria's Secret usually go over well.

Don't Always give lingerie.  The stuff isn't warm, and the object of your affections doesn't want to feel like your object all the time.  Lingerie can also be looked at as 'performance' wear.  If you haven't figured it out already, she doesn't want to perform all the time.  Along these lines the old saying, "Your can't eat steak every night" holds a true note with keeping a quality sex life.
